Best Hero Siege Farming Builds for Fast Clears
A good farming build in Hero Siege isn't the one with the biggest single-target damage number — it's the one that clears a screen of enemies in a second, moves to the next pack instantly, and never dies doing it. This guide covers the best Hero Siege farming builds for Season 9 "Incarnation" and, more importantly, the traits that make a build good at farming so you can adapt as the meta shifts each season.
What makes a build good for farming
- Wide AoE — you want to delete whole packs, not pick off single targets.
- High mobility — teleports and dashes cut travel time between packs.
- Survivability — a build that dies mid-run farms nothing; safe clears beat glass-cannon spikes.
- Off-screen or ranged clear — killing before enemies reach you is the safest DPS there is.
Season 9 S-tier farming builds
The current Incarnation season introduced a brand-new class, the Prophet (a mage/summoner/shapeshifter hybrid), alongside hundreds of balance changes. Among the builds the community currently rates S-tier for farming are the AoP Illusionist, Orb of Frost Jotunn, Blood & Bone Demonspawn, Explosive Kunai Samurai and Bolts Stormweaver. Tier lists move with every patch, so treat these as a strong starting point and check a current Season 9 tier list before committing.
Reliable farming archetypes
Underneath the season-to-season churn, a handful of archetypes are reliably strong for speed-farming. These are the ones that stay good even as specific builds rotate:
Stormweaver — screen-wide lightning
The Stormweaver is a farming staple thanks to screen-wide chain lightning and excellent teleportation. It combines big AoE damage with the mobility to zip between packs, which is exactly the "clear and reset" loop that fast farming rewards. If you want a ranged caster that shreds density, this is a top pick.
Samurai — fast melee burst
Explosive, mobile and lethal, the Samurai snaps from enemy to enemy and blows up packs with high-impact burst. It's frequently cited as one of the fastest speed-farming builds in recent seasons. It rewards active play and good positioning, so it's ideal if you like a high-tempo melee style.
Plague Doctor — damage over time
The Plague Doctor spreads toxic damage-over-time from a safe distance, melting hordes while you keep moving. DoT playstyles are excellent for sustained farming sessions because the damage keeps ticking as you reposition to the next group.
Marksman — ranged kiting
Strong mobility plus powerful ranged attacks make the Marksman a clean, safe farmer. Kite, fire, reposition — you deal consistent damage while staying out of harm's way, which keeps runs alive deep into a Chaos Tower or Wormhole.
Off-screen zone-control builds
Builds that clear off-screen — pulling and detonating packs before they ever reach you — feel far safer than direct melee and are superb for wave-based events. If your season has a strong zone-control setup available, it's usually a top-tier farming option.
| Build / Class | Style | Why it farms well |
|---|---|---|
| Stormweaver | Ranged AoE | Screen-wide chain lightning + teleport mobility |
| Samurai | Melee burst | Instant pack-to-pack snap, high burst |
| Plague Doctor | Ranged DoT | Sustained hordes clear from safety |
| Marksman | Ranged | Safe kiting, consistent damage |
| Necromancer | Summoner | Beginner-friendly; pets tank and deal damage |
What about "AFK" farming?
You'll see "AFK farming build" searched a lot — but honestly, the strongest farming builds are designed for fast active play, not standing still. A tanky summoner can survive semi-idle for a while, yet it won't out-farm a mobile AoE build in the same time. Genuinely hands-off farming means automation, which is a separate topic with its own rules — read our guide on whether auto-farming is safe before you go that route. If you do automate, a self-sustaining, high-AoE, high-survivability build is the one that pairs best with it.
Season 9 power: the Incarnation & Ether Trees
In "Incarnation", your build's ceiling is shaped by two new systems. The Incarnation Tree opens at level 100 and is a passive tree with 1,600+ nodes (it replaces the old hero-level skill tree), while the Ether Tree lets you pour points into mechanic-specific nodes. For a farmer, that means two things: spec the Incarnation Tree toward survivability and AoE so you can farm hands-free, and prioritize Ether Tree nodes like Pillars of Chaos that boost Satanic and bloater-pack drops. A "farming build" in Season 9 is your class plus how you allocate these trees.
Beginner tip: start simple, then specialize
If you're new, a summoner-style class like the Necromancer lets pets do the work while you learn positioning and mechanics. Once you're comfortable and have some gold coming in (see our gold farming guide), respec or reroll into a high-AoE speed farmer to cut your clear times dramatically.
Farm on autopilot
Pair a strong farming build with MUSA's Hero Siege bot — it detects and kills enemies, picks up loot and sells it for gold using the abilities you configure.
